San Ángel Inn, nestled in the picturesque San Ángel neighborhood of Mexico City, offers a dining experience that spirals into delight. Housed in a historic former monastery, the restaurant boasts an ambiance steeped in elegance and charm, often enhanced by live mariachi music during sunset. Visitors rave about the beautiful courtyard, making it a captivating spot for lunch or dinner. While the cuisine is generally well-received, opinions vary. The menu includes enticing options like Albondigas Al Chipotle, which blends lamb and beef to create a tantalizing flavor profile, and Chile Poblano, showcasing traditional ingredients that celebrate Mexican culinary art. However, some reviewers found the food to be unremarkable compared to the stunning setting. Critics highlight the impeccable service, though a few noted slow response times. The standout recommendation is the restaurant's margarita, often cited as one of the best in the city. Guests like David Wild appreciate the light and delicious Torta de Elotes, a perfect companion for a refreshing drink. San Ángel Inn is a must-visit for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the culture and flavors of Mexico while enjoying a breathtaking locale.

San Angel Inn is a breathtaking dining destination that truly exceeds expectations. Walking from Coyoacan to San Angel was an incredible experience in itself, but upon arriving at this historic former monastery, we were completely captivated by its beauty. The elegant atmosphere, enhanced by live mariachi music at sunset, creates a truly magical setting. The service was impeccable, and the cuisine was exceptional, making for an unforgettable dining experience. For anyone visiting Mexico City and looking to explore a charming, picturesque part of the city, San Angel Inn is an absolute must.

Very nice ambiance, a rustic place to go have lunch or dinner with a beautiful courtyard. Food is unremarkable but doesn't take away from the experience.

Food and ambience were excellent. Service was slow, we were seated peompyly but had to ask the waiter after 15-20 min for napkins and plates. Still highly recommended.

Stunning. Pop in for a Margarita (probably the best service of Margarita you will have in all your days) and a cake in the stunning courtyard if you're in the area. The Torta de elotes is light and delicious. The venue is incredibly beautiful and if you are in town to see some of the museums or to go to the local shops it's a terrific stop to recharge.

Beautiful restaurant in a histiric location. Across the street from the Diego Rivera studio. Fantastic food and extraordinary service. Called the most beautiful restaurant in CDMX. Possibly the most authentic margarita in the city.

A classic proper dining experience. The food is not cutting-edge or challenging, it is traditional, tasty and dare I use the word "classy". It is the place you bring your family to celebrate a milestone or an out-of-town business associate. Gorgeous and regal, a callback to a gadget-free fine dining experience.

We love this place. It is always full of activity and the clientele are all so graceful and beautiful. The serving team are above and beyond making you feel like family. Thank you San Angel!
